Journal of Plant Development Sciences has adopted and strictly follow COPE guidelines as defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) includes publication Ethics, Principles and Policies to guide authors, editors and publishers. Its goal is to improve ethical publishing and safeguard the honesty of the scientific records.
Duties / Responsibilities of Authors
By submitting an article to Journal of Plant Development Sciences, the author(s) deserve that the manuscript is his own, original work and that it has neither been published previously nor is currently being considered for publication elsewhere.
Originality and Plagiarism: The authors should ensure that they have written completely original works and if they have used the work or words of others that this has been properly cited or quoted.

Fundamental errors in published works: When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s responsibility to punctually notify the journal editor to retract or correct the article.
Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects: In case the work involves chemicals, procedures or equipment that has any unusual hazard inherent in their use, the author must clearly identify these in the paper.

Duties / Responsibilities of Editors
Fair Play: The editors at any time evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, political philosophy of the authors.
The editors of Journal of Plant Development Sciences take the responsibility to ensure high-quality scientific publications that meet standards of academic excellence and to implement an exact peer-review together with strict ethical policies and standards in the field of academic publication. In case of an ethical issue all requisite action is taken. Ethical issues that might be raised by readers of the journal will be examined by the editorial office following procedures in line follow COPE guidelines as defined by the Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE).
Duties / Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are expected not to mention a manuscript or refer to the work it describes before it has been published. Reviewer should intentionally adopt a positive, impartial attitude towards the manuscript and if reviewer believes that you cannot judge the article impartially, please return the article immediately to the editor. Reviews should be completed quickly within 20-30 days. If you know that you cannot finish the review within time, please inform to the editor. A reviewer should not discuss about the article with its any author. In comments intended for the author’s, criticism should be presented objectively and rude comments avoided. Reviewer suggestions and criticism concerning the article will be useful to the editor and author if they are carefully documented. At least two review reports are collected for each submitted article. You are not requested to correct any mistake/ mistakes in grammar, but any help in this regard will be appreciated. Article will be considered for publication only on the recommendation from referees. The Editor-in-Chief gratefully receives a reviewer’s recommendations but given that the editorial decisions are usually based on evaluations derived from several sources, a reviewer should not expect the editor to credit his every recommendation.
Editorial process in Journal of Plant Development Sciences
Editorial Board Review Stage: The Editor-in-Chief, JPDS will review all submitted manuscripts initially for suitability for proper review. Unoriginal or insufficiently original manuscripts are rejected before they can be submitted for formal peer review. Other reasons for rejection include serious scientific or technical flaws, a particularly high rate of similarity with prior publications (plagiarism), or a lack of findings or a non-significant statement.
Peer-Review Stage: The peer-review stage employs a “double-blind” review with a minimum of two independent referees in the subject experts.
Editorial Decision Stage: After receiving the response from two referees, the editor or section editor will make a decision for the submission to the Editor-in-Chief and the final decision will be taken by Editor-in-Chief.
Copyediting stage: Manuscripts accepted for publication are copy edited for grammar, punctuation, journal print style, dates and journal format. Proof is sent to the corresponding author. The corresponding author is expected to return the corrected proofs within four-five days.
Proofreading stage: The proofreader will send the final proof of the article in pdf format with a fixed journal layout. There is no significant change in this stage. Authors are only required to check their names, affiliations and writing format (dates, grammar, punctuation and layout format). The corresponding author is expected to return the final proof within two-three days.
Published Online: JPDS provides an article in the press which means the article is published on website before or with complete issue.
Overall, the publication process from submission to publish will be 5-12 weeks.
Peer Review Process in Journal of Plant Development Sciences

- Resubmit for Review: Major revision or need more round peer-review process

Correction and Withdrawal
Journal of Plant Development Sciences (JPDS) has the same policy regarding corrections and retractions. We differentiate between Erratum, Corrigendum, Retraction, Addendum, Article Removal and Article Withdrawal.
Plagiarism Policy
The plagiarism check aims to maintain the quality of originality and novelty. Every article sent to the Journal of Plant Development Sciences (JPDS) will be checked for plagiarism using Turnitin or iThenticate with a maximum number of 20% originality reports. Manuscripts submitted to JPDS will undergo two plagiarism checks, one at the time of submission and another prior to the layout process (copyediting). Plagiarism-free works should match these requirements.
Advertising Policy
All advertisements and commercially sponsored publications are independent of editorial decisions. Journal of Plant Development Sciences (JPDS) does not support any product or service marked as an advertisement or promoted by a sponsor in JPDS publication.
